Commissioner Tom Landwehr to be Featured Speaker at the Sportsmen’s Club 48th Annual Meeting
The 48th Annual Meeting of the Sportsmen’s Club of Lake Vermilion will be held Saturday, August 13 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 107 N. 3rd Street, Tower MN. This is a new location for this annual event. Please use the lower level covered entrance.
The meeting kicks off with a 4:30 P.M social hour, followed by a 5:30 P.M. buffet dinner catered by Zup’s. The business meeting will begin at 6:15, followed by the evening program. The featured speaker will be Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Commissioner, Tom Landwehr. He will provide updates on key concerns related to Lake Vermilion. He will share his perspective on the greatness of our lake and the challenges we currently face protecting the lake for fishermen and recreational boaters.
The lake association’s annual meeting is a time for members and their guests to talk about club activities and share ideas with Sportsmen’s Club’s board. Board members will be wearing name tags so please take time to discuss your thoughts concerning the lake with them. After dinner, a brief business meeting will include reports from club officers, along with election of board members. The ever-popular door prize drawing will be part of the agenda.
The dinner buffet menu will be catered by Zup’s and includes: Beef, chicken, meatballs, Polish delights, wild rice, baked beans, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, turkey and ham tray, veggie and cheese trays, rolls, coffee, and milk. Beverages will be provided by Good Ol’ Days onsite.
The cost – $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 or younger – includes the buffet dinner, five drawing tickets, a reunion with friends, and a great program. Additional drawing tickets will be available for purchase. Seating is limited to 200 persons, so please make your reservations by Saturday, August 6 to one of the following.
