Little Fork Watershed Public Notice

The planning staff of the counties and soil & water conservation districts in Itasca, Koochiching and St. Louis counties and cities of Cook and Littlefork that are within the watershed are asking for the public for comments on the draft watershed plan for the Little Fork River.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The public is hereby notified that the draft Little Fork River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan (One Watershed, One Plan) is available for review and comment during the formal public review period from July 1 – August 14, 2026.

The Little Fork River Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan has been developed through a collaborative planning process involving local and Tribal government units, resource professionals, and community members. This plan fosters continued collaboration across stakeholders to protect and manage natural resources across the watershed. This plan identifies priority water and ecological resource issues, goals, and implementation strategies that will guide voluntary conservation projects and programs throughout the Little Fork River Watershed over the next ten years.

Interested individuals, organizations, and agencies are encouraged to review the draft plan and submit comments during the review period.

Comments must be received by August 14, 2026 to be considered during plan revision and final adoption.
